Best wishes to Grandma Ruth who unfortunately broke her leg right before the holidays and could not make it this year. We opened presents by phone so she could join in the fun.

Christmas Captured
This year was Grant's second Christmas. It was the first Christmas he was able to open his own presents and boy did he enjoy it!

Silly Hat
Now that the temperatures have dropped, Grant has been trying out some of his hats. This one is especially silly and that's why Mommy loves it.

Santa at Gate6
Santa came to Mommy's office, Gate6, and Grant got a second try. He was a little freaked out by the other kids who were scared and scream-crying, but he quickly mellowed and we got some decent pics as long as Mommy was there with him. How great looking is this Santa with the curly mustache?!

First Picture with Santa
Grant was not a fan of being with Santa by himself, so Mommy and Daddy joined in. We were thankful for such a cute and patient Santa Claus.

Grandma Ruth Comes to Visit
We were so excited with Grant's Halloween pictures that this picture of when Grandma Ruth visited a few weeks ago was not even up yet! This year will be celebrating the holidays in Arizona so expect more family pictures soon.

Happy Halloween!
For Halloween this year Grant rocked out with his mo-hawk, ripped shirt, and skull tattoos. Check out Mom and Dad's costume as well.

Always a Character
Grant is always finding new ways to make us laugh. Here he is walking around with pants on his head.
Thanks Buddy!

He Loves to Color
Grant got to color for the first time and he loved it! (He's coloring on old Wells Fargo print outs like I used to color on old BLM print outs.) He did try to taste test the crayons a couple times, but making marks and dots on the paper was definitely the highlight.
Playing with sticky tape is a current fave. He wins by finally getting it to stick to the table and not his hands. Love those dimples!!

Danger Boo
Grant has had so much fun with ripping out pages of catalogs and playing in them like they're leaves. They're tricky though, 'cause they're slippery. (I guess this is a sign that he's a true Phoenician - playing in paper since we don't have fall, or leaves.)
And here's a fun bonus video of Grant learning how to wink. (Yep, the drool mark on his onesie is because he's cutting 4 teeth at once.)

Making Messes
Grant is a pretty tidy little boy most of the time, so when we let him get messy he loves it! Here he is eating spaghetti after his swim lesson (thus the crazy hair) and enjoying pudding paint in the tub (in the school of Jackson Pollock).

Sandy Britches
A trip to the Oregon coast was Grant's first experience with sand and the ocean. He was fascinated with the sand and enjoyed posing for pictures with Mom and Grandma Ruth.

He's walking and we're SO excited!
Grant had been taking tentative steps for a couple months but this week he started walking like a pro! We're so excited and proud. (yes, that's me shreeking in the background)

Raspberries Make Grant Giggle
Grant loves all silly sounds: loud trucks, pots and pans, crinkly paper, animal noises and yes, even raspberries.
Crazy Post Pool Hair
Grant is a trooper and made it through his second week of ISR swim training. He can now float on his own. Yay! A side effect of the evening pool classes is some wild and crazy hair. It makes us giggle and helps shake off the stress of the ISR lessons.

Grant's First Birthday
One year has quickly passed and Grant celebrated his first birthday. Friends and family joined him for a Cupcake and Cocktail Celebration. Mommy made Grant's birthday cake in the shape of a huge cupcake as well as all of the cupcakes and icing for the guests. She did such a great job, when it was time for Grant to tear a part his cake he delicately scraped off some icing leaving the rest to enjoy later. Grant received lots of fun gifts and gets to open a new one each day for a week.
Thank you to everyone who was thinking of Grant on his birthday and helped make it so memorable!
